The Logo

The Connect 2 Careers logo is the main symbol of our brand that uses a sans serif typeface that may be recolourized in multiple ways to retain our tri-colour scheme.

Don’t:

Do not use two primary colours in one logo. There is not enough contrast in the image and makes it difficult to read.

Don’t:

Do not distort, warp, or add any effects to the logo. They may make it difficult to read and disrupts the cohesive design.

The Spacing

No design elements should ever be placed within the height of the “2” from the logo edge; this applies to the frame and text versions. This greyed area represnts this safety zone.

The Colours

The Connect 2 Careers colour scheme is a variation of Georgian College’s main colours: blue, green, and white. These are the sole colours that should represent the brand.

The Description

Connect 2 Careers holds their annual career fair on the first Tuesday of February every year. The event, which is held in the Gymnasium (J Building) of Georgian College’s Barrie Campus, aids students in Hotel & Resort, Travel & Tourism, Fitness & Health, Recreation & Leisure, Esthetics & Spa, Massage, Golf Management, Culinary, and Event Management programs in finding an appropriate summer co-op placement.

Connect 2 Careers is run by students, for students and traditionally attracts an excess of 60 employers from across Canada and upwards of 800 students. Our line-up includes Casino Rama, Blue Mountain, Friday Harbour, Deerhurst and Horseshoe Valley Resort, Canada’s Wonderland, Pursuit Collection and Prince of Wales Hotel, and Milestones Grill + Bar. It continues to be the largest generator of co-op placements on campus with more than 350 students obtaining jobs on event day.

Before the career fair begins, first-year students are invited to program specific co-op workshops. The objective of these sessions is to allow students to connect with students who have previously completed their working placements. They will explain steps to make the most out of a 4-month co-op placement and answer any questions that may arise.

Following, the job fair will commence. The event is highly successful and strongly regarded by attendees as “the most professional event” that they attend. Employers are given space to not only showcase their properties but interview the students at the same time. They offer a unique opportunity to both our student body and the College. Students are prepared through resume workshops, decorum education and faculty support to ensure our students are chosen first amongst our competitors. We utilize all hospitality classes being cancelled for the day as a method to ensure attendance by both student and faculty alike.
