The department of Hospitality has been conducting a career fair since the early 1990s. The career fair is always held on the first Tuesday in February and was branded as Connect 2 Careers (C2C) in 2012. The career fair traditionally attracts in excess of 55 employers from across Canada and in upwards of 800 students attend. Connect 2 Careers is the largest generator of co-op placements on campus with more than 350 students obtaining jobs on event day.

Connect 2 Careers job fair opens its doors at 11am. The recruiters are given space to not only showcase their properties but interview the students at the same time. This highly successful event is strongly regarded by our recruiters as “the most professional event” that they attend. Our students are prepared through resume workshops, decorum education and faculty support to ensure our students are chosen first amongst our competitors.

2018 Connect 2 Careers Job Fair

Last year, approximately 55 recruiters attend the job fair representing over 80 individual companies, offering a unique opportunity to both our student body and the college. We utilize all hospitality classes being cancelled for the day as a method to ensure attendance by both student and faculty alike.
At first, summer co-op placements can be a scary thing to think about. That’s why we designed co-op open discussion forums for first-year students with co-op programs. These sessions will allow you, the students, to connect with other students who have previously completed work placements. They will share their positive (and sometimes negative) experiences to help you be prepared and make the most out of your 4-month placement.
