Connect 2 Careers is an event run by students for students. An executive committee of students from numerous Georgian College programs orchestrates the entire event from start to finish. Alumni and faculty further support the committee as a method to ensure continuity as the event evolves from year to year.

Tanner Richards
Co-Chair & Logistics Executive

Tanner is a third year student at Georgian College, currently studying the BAGM program (Business Administration in Golf Management). After growing up playing golf and creating a love for the game, he decided that he would study golf management since he was passionate for the sport. He has spent two summers at the Cabot Links golf resort on Cape Breton Island, Nova Scotia. The two golf courses are highly regarded, and Tanner gained lots of knowledge of himself as well as the golf course while caddying at the resort. He also spent one season as a turf intern at Cabot Cliffs, where he gained experience in golf course maintenance on one of the best properties the country has to offer. Tanner hopes to one day be a part of the management team at a prestigious golf course. This is his third year on C2C, and he can’t wait to contribute to the team in any capacity. He is very excited to be part of the C2C team, and is excited to make the event a success for students looking to find Co-op jobs for the upcoming work semester.

Carter Leys

Carter is a third-year student at Georgian College. Currently enrolled in Business Administration Golf Management Program.   He was on the college dean's list both semesters last year. Carter came to Georgian College directly after graduating high school to pursue his ambitions in the golf industry. This is Carter’s third year on the Connect 2 Careers Executive Committee and he is very excited and willing to help out in any way needed. Carter is hoping to complete his co-op placement with the Fairmont Banff Springs. He looks forward to a career in the golf industry.

Crystal Groves

Crystal Groves is currently a student in the Event Management Graduate Program here at Georgian College. She has worked as a customer service representative at Indigo Barrie for eight years, and part of her job is helping to coordinate and facilitate children’s events. This is where she discovered her passion for event management and decided to make it her career. Previously, Crystal was a student in the Tourism, Marketing and Product Development at Georgian College where she graduated on the Dean’s List and won the Tourism Research Award for professionalism in tourism research. This is her first year on the Connect 2 Careers Committee and she is excited about this opportunity to utilize the skills and knowledge that she is acquiring through the Event Management program and to gain experience through assisting in planning a successful college career fair. Last year, Crystal attained a co-op position at Taboo Muskoka though C2C and is overjoyed that she can use what she has learned in her current program to help other students find positions that are as rewarding as hers was.

Samantha Coladipietro

Samantha is in her third year at Georgian currently enrolled the Event Management program. She previously graduated with honors from the General Arts and Sciences program also here at Georgian. Samantha grew up in the Blue Mountain / Collingwood area and is no stranger to events. From small scale events like birthdays and baby showers to larger scale events like the Elvis Festival and the Great Northern Exhibition (GNE), she had opportunities to attend countless events and that started her on a path to want to be a part of the event industry. This is Samantha’s first year on the Connect 2 Careers committee and she is excited to have the opportunity to be a part of the team.
